Park Party MUST Haves
Jul 28, 2024 12:18 pm
Hey there Mumma bears,
How are you today? I hope you've had a fabulous week and there is something to look forward to in the upcoming week...
Have you ever hosted or attended a party at the park? I have both hosted and attended many over the years for my kids and their friends. Your local park or even an awesome park that is a few suburbs away can be the perfect place to host your next party, depending on the season. The thing is, not all parks are made "equal". Read on for my recommendations on park party "must haves" from my own personal experience...
A toilet/bathroom within kids walking distance
Let's face it, kids are gonna be running around, drinking lots of water, juice, soft drink or whatever it is you like to provide for as kids party drinks. Kids (and parents!) are gonna need to go during the party.
Shaded spaces in summer, proper roofed shelters in rainy times
You'll want a sheltered space to set up picnic blankets, the party food and drinks, for guests to place gifts and so on.
Appropriate playground equipment
Ok, if you're having a party for your toddler, you won't want to do so at a Ninja Warrior style park set up for tweens and teens and vice versa. Be sure to check out the park beforehand to see if it has appropriate equipment available.
A working drinking fountain
At the very least, people will need to have a drink of water at some point during the party. In case someone forgets their reusable water bottle or some people would prefer water over juice/soft drinks, check that there is a drinking fountain at the park and that it is in working order.
Sunscreen
Be sure to bring along a decent sized container of sunscreen for your family and your guests to use. Being sun smart is super important, especially in the warmer months.
Park parties can be loads of fun, plus easy to organise and host, if you do a little pre planning. Hit reply now and tell me about your favourite park party, or even just your favourite local park!
Happy partying!
