But It's Just A Few Balloons Right?!

Oh hey there!

Winter has definitely set in where I live - we've had a number of big thunder storms and heavy rain events. I am thankful for this though as the weather has been so dry this year until now, we really need the rain. Our planet and our climate is changing and not for the better... This can feel heavy and overwhelming, the antidote to this is taking action. Truly, any small steps you can take that help heal our planet will help you feel less overwhelmed and more positive about our future generations inheriting a liveable planet.

One of the ways you can take a positive step is in the choices you make around parties and celebrations. When I was a kid, parties were filled with balloons and streamers (though paper, they were disposed of straight into the bin after the party), plastic cups, plastic plates.... Much plastic!! Thing is, we didn't know any other way then - now we do!

Balloons might feel like a required party decor item - what's a party without balloons right? Unfortunately balloons, even supposedly "eco friendly" ones, can take up to four years to biodegrade!! Meanwhile, if they escape into our environment, wildlife can mistake them for a food source. Once ingested, balloons create absolute havoc in the animals digestive system, leading to a slow and painful death...

Thankfully these days we have soooo many other decorating options available! You can find beautiful, reusable items like paper honeycomb balls, paper fans, party bunting and more! These items can be purchased by you directly and reused over and over again or hired through party providers.

You can have a beautifully decorated party without a single balloon in sight! I cover this in more detail in the Party Poppers Eco Party Course.

Have you been to a party without balloons? Hit reply and let me know!

Have a fabulous week!
