Welcome back to the World of Argren October 2026

Le’hasa

Welcome back to Argren – a kick-ass epic fantasy series about witches and rebels who take on an evil oligarchy – a story for our times.

What's new

Well Argren Faire is in the books and boy was it a time! Somewhere between 5000 and 7500 folks attended. Met lots of readers, and gave out a lot of books to folks who completed the scavenger hunt.

What are you looking forward to this fall? Cooler temperatures and shorter days for us means time inside reading and more warm food. Anyone else reaching for a doorstop book and their crock pots at the same time? Send Deb a pic of your fave fall recipe next to your current read, and we'll share in next month's newsletter.

Tell us what you think of our next cover

Ross and Deb have been completing the final edits of Book of the Witch, the first book in a new series. Set 2000 years after the events of the Spirit Song Saga, we explore what happens when a society slowly forgets the wisdom of the old magic, and allows corporations to enslave the population. (FYI Our names will be added to the top of the cover)

We would love your feedback.

Several of you have offered to be part of our advanced reader copy team (don't worry we haven't forgotten you!). Let us know if you would like to as well and you just might get a signed copy of the book in the mail.

What we're reading/doing

Our October book for our Firkins and Fantasy book club is The Salt Grows Heavy by Cassandra Khaw. Our group really enjoys a retelling of classic myths and fairy tales. It's creepy, short and just right for the spooky season.

This month's free fantasy!

Looking for a fantasy audiobook for your next workout or housecleaning binge? Check these out.

And not our first go to genre, but since we did write a cyber satire with a murder, a kidnapping and stolen technology, I guess it counts. Just in time for spooky season.

Why we love Milwaukee

Milwaukee was founded by German socialists with a penchant for parks and beer. So you can imagine the number of beer gardens and Octoberfest celebrations. Our favorite is Hubbard Park, next to the Milwaukee river and walking distance from our house.
