Remembering a woman who shaped my life

Apr 25, 2026 1:56 am

Hi there,

In memory of my Aunt Mary, who passed away on Wednesday, April 22 at midnight. One of the greatest lessons she leaves with me is this: never take the people you love — and who love you back — for granted. My aunt taught me many lessons in her lifetime.

The Snoopy quote I shared below was the perfect reminder of what I’m holding close today.

She wasn’t just my aunt. She was my Godmother, my prayer warrior, my confidant, and my partner in faith. She helped me care for my mom when I needed it most. She shared her wisdom freely. She was an incredible cook and gardener, made beautiful quilts and jewelry, and even taught me how to make face masks.

I’m so grateful my mom and I were able to say goodbye to her on the phone on Monday.

We told her:

We love you.

We will miss you.

You will not be forgotten.

In life and in death, people need to feel seen, heard, and valued. She lived that truth every single day.

And it’s a reminder of how I try to show up in the world. As a business strategy coach, author, and soon‑to‑be travel agent, I do my best to truly see people and help them feel valued. What they choose to do with that is up to them.

I'm going to miss my aunt Mary and it's hard to say goodbye. I wanted to honor her memory to share some of the life lessons she shared with me. I felt like it would help you too.

Let me know how you want to be remembered?
