Hey ,

This past Friday with The Virtual Summiteers Peer Group, we were supposed to discuss Promotions of Virtual Events. Instead, I got a free coaching session with The Jason Hodge of Mastering Your Media! This is just one of the many benefits of being a part of this peer group. We get to have conversations with brilliant people who have proven their knowledge many times over.

Want to know more about my coaching session with The Jason Hodge? You can find it in Talk Virtual's LinkedIn newsletter or join our Virtual Summiteers membership site at (https://vs.talk-virtual.com) and hear our conversation for yourself!

Here's what our meetings usually look like:

There's a topic and each member shares how they've handled it whether it's been good, bad or seen from someone they admire.

My portion of this meeting focused on getting your speakers to promote the event they're a part of.

So, let's say:

If social media isn't doing much to help you promote your events, what else can you do? Ask your speakers to promote their involvement in the event?

Are you thinking:

(Yeah, good luck with that!)

Well then,

how do you get your speakers to promote themselves?

Here's a link

to a Google Doc with a list of great ideas to get your speakers excited about promoting their participation in your event.

While I've had speakers promote their involvement in events I've hosted and produced, I still believe it's importan for you to promote your event yourself.

Here are a few tips on how to do that:

- Prioritize Value Over Speakers: Focus on the educational benefits and networking opportunities your event offers rather than promoting individual speakers.

- Community First: Build a strong community around your events and offer exclusive benefits to existing members.

- Content Marketing: Utilize strategies like podcast interviews with speakers and creating pre-event buzz to engage attendees.

- Targeted Omnipresence: Be present on the social media platforms where your target audience spends their time. Tailor your messaging to resonate with each platform's audience. (Think groups & DM's)

- Strong Brand Identity: Develop a distinct and memorable brand for your event that reflects its core values.

- Dedicated Team: Assemble a team with the expertise to manage various aspects of the event, ensuring smooth execution and a positive attendee experience.

Good luck with your next event!

Keep Moving Forward!
