Hey ,

Hope you got to really enjoy a great weekend!

September 6th., 7th. & 8th. I got to hangout, participate & host a round table discussion session for Zakia Ringgold's 2024 Handcrafted Live Virtual Soap Summit! This event was about soap and business. I stayed in the business part of the event and learned SOOOO MUCH and not just from the speakers! This was truly a fun and amazing event! If you're intrested the replays are up!

I also, wanted to share the great insights from our last Virtual Summiteers Peer Group Meeting. It was supposed to be on "Monetization, Affiliates, Collaborations, Partnerships & Sponsorships." but other things came up! No Worries though, when we're in the mists of a valuable discussions and strategies we just roll with it!

If you would like to watch the Recording(s) Here you go: VIEW RECORDING(S)

Key Highlights:

Repurposing Content and Using Plain Language

Zakia and I discuss the importance of repurposing content and using plain, non-technical language when communicating with clients. We came to the conclusion that terms like "repurposing" may not resonate and it's better to use more common language like "reusing your content" or "creating social media posts from your existing content."

This actually made me kinda sad. It felt like my vocabulary / English good enought and I would need to dumb it down to be understood. Then I remembered that it's not about me and that if people don't understand what I'm saying then why should they give me their money.

Action Step: Review your current content and identify pieces that can be repurposed. Use plain language to communicate these ideas to your clients.

Understanding Knowledge Gaps

We discusses how experts often assume others have the same level of knowledge, when in reality there can be significant knowledge gaps. There was examples like scar tissue and microcurrent therapy to illustrate how terms and concepts that seem obvious to experts may be completely foreign to clients.

After hearing this, I got back in my place! I really gotta stop assuming that everyone speaks the same English.

Action Step: Assess your communication materials to ensure they are accessible to all levels of understanding. Use simple, clear language and provide explanations for technical terms.

Challenges with SaaS Platforms

Our frustrations with SaaS platforms like Airmeet, including issues with unexpected changes to pricing and features. We agree that these platforms often prioritize their own interests over those of their users.

I got Airmeet from AppSumo, it was a Life Time Deal. (LTD)This month there was an email from Airmeet's support stating that they: want to take a moment to thank me for my early support of their product. Audio and video hosting, have continued to rise. Supporting our lifetime deal users has become financially unsustainable and we find ourselves struggling to keep the business afloat. To compensate for the transition, we are offering you to migrate to a new agency plan free of subscription with nominal usage-based pricing. $4 per guest on the platform.

No, it's not that bad; but still dang! Oh well, gotta keep moving forward!

Action Step: Evaluate the SaaS platforms you are using and consider alternatives that better meet your needs. Look for platforms with transparent pricing and user-friendly features.

Structuring a Multi-Tiered Membership Model

Me, Zakia, Elle and Jason explore ideas for structuring a virtual community as a multi-tiered membership model. This could include a core "membership here" group, a middle tier "talk virtual pro" group, and broader access tiers. The goal is to provide different levels of access, engagement and value.

Action Step: Brainstorm ways to implement a multi-tiered membership model for your community. Define the benefits and access levels for each tier.

Leveraging the Community for Product Feedback and Testing

We then discusses how the community could be leveraged as a valuable resource for SaaS companies, providing honest feedback and real-world testing of their products. This could create a mutually beneficial arrangement where the community gains early access and influence, while the SaaS companies receive valuable insights.

Action Step: Reach out to SaaS companies and propose a partnership for product feedback and testing. Highlight the benefits for both parties.

This session is a goldmine of information and strategies that can help you take your business to the next level. Don't miss out on these valuable insights!

Keep Moving Forward!
