Maximize Your Virtual Event Success: Essential Next Steps from Our Session

Sep 23, 2024 12:55 pm

Hey ,

I hope you enjoied a great weekend and that you're well rested!

I wanted to share some valuable insights and actionable steps that came from our recent Virtual Summiteers Peer Group session.

As we continue to refine our approach to virtual events, these steps can help enhance our planning, engagement and overall attendee experience.

Would you like an opportunity to see our replays? Yes! Well, here you go!

Here are a few take aways from our conversation last Friday:

Takeaways from the Session

  1. Explore Airmeet: Consider using Airmeet for your upcoming events due to its all-in-one platform capabilities, which allow attendees to navigate seamlessly without losing engagement. (We're not sure, how long Airmeet will last for us Sumolings. Nice platform though.)
  2. Assess Pricing Strategies: Implement a ticketing strategy to cover platform costs. For example, charging a nominal fee (e.g., $10) can help offset expenses while ensuring committed attendance.
  3. Plan for Future Platforms: Given potential shifts in the virtual event landscape, start identifying alternative platforms (like Live Webinar) for your events to ensure stability and quality.
  4. Focus on Quality Content: Prioritize platforms that maintain HD quality to avoid content degradation during streaming. Discuss with your team the technical requirements for consistent high-quality broadcasts. (720p is fine, unless your streaming to a Roku channel or something like it.)
  5. Incorporate Audience Engagement Tools: Utilize tools like announcements or interactive features during your events to enhance attendee experience and keep them informed about upcoming sessions.(These features are in Airmeet.)
  6. Gather Feedback: After each event, collect feedback from attendees regarding their experience with the platform and the overall event to refine your approach for future sessions.
  7. Camera and Setup Review: If you're considering upgrading your video equipment, explore options like the Sony ZV-E10 for high-quality streaming. Evaluate your current setup and make necessary adjustments for better video quality. (One of our members just got this setup and it looks VERY NICE!)
  8. Networking Opportunities: Engage with fellow event producers and attendees for insights on best practices, platform capabilities and innovative ideas to improve your events.

Let’s leverage these insights to elevate our upcoming events and ensure we’re providing the best possible experience for our audience. If you have any thoughts or additional ideas, please feel free to share!

*Keep Moving Forward!
