Hey ,
Happy New Year! Here's our Sat. Jan. 4th., 2025 Crawford Family Reunion recap newsletter!
Family Reunion 2025: A Fun (and Slightly Roasted) Recap of our January 4th Meeting
How We’re Turning $100 into the Best Family Reunion Yet (With Some Gentle Nudges Along the Way)
Introduction:
Family meetings: the sacred battleground of laughter, debates and the occasional side-eye. On January 4, 2025, our beloved family came together to tackle reunion plans, share ideas and lightly roast each other—all in good fun, of course. If you missed the meeting (tsk, tsk), here’s your fun, sassy recap complete with highlights, a TL;DR (Too Long; Didn’t Read section) for the impatient and a not-so-subtle plea for your $100 contribution. Spoiler alert: Tasha Collins might just host us all at her house!
TL;DR:
- We prayed, laughed and planned.
- The reunion is set for September 13th., 14th. & 15th.
- Tasha’s house is a potential venue (nice house, big yard, low cost!).
- We’re making t-shirts or polos (vote on the color!).
- Participation and dues are critical (payments for each household $100 and or per family member over the age of 21).
- Next meeting: February 15th, 3 PM ET, at Charlie’s house. Be there or be square.
Prayer, Praise and Priorities
The meeting kicked off with a heartfelt prayer, as is tradition, setting a positive and grateful tone for the discussion. We’re thanking God for guiding us, but let’s not forget: He helps those who help themselves!
Finances: Who Paid, Who’s Slacking and Why It Matters
Alright, let’s address the elephant in the room. Out of all the family members, only a few have ponied up their $100. A gentle reminder: that $100 isn’t just a random number; it’s the magic sauce for a great time to be enjoyed by all and not hosting the reunion at a park bench. Don’t be the cousin who shows up empty-handed but eats three plates… we see you. (I've done this at every meeting so far.)
Reunion Plans: Skates, Yards and Cornhole Dreams
We brainstormed venues like pros. A skating rink? Fun, but pricey. Hot Wheels Skating A park? Nice, but we’re not vibing with porta-potties. Conway Park, actully has indoor rest rooms. Enter Tasha Collins, our MVP, who offered her lovly home with its spacious yard. It’s cost-effective, cozy and comes with Tasha’s excellent Southern hospitality, sweet tea and lemonade (we assume).
September 13,14 &15: Save the Date
After much debate (April showers? May’s too busy?), we landed on September 13th., 14th. & 15th. Mark your calendars, set reminders and start saving your coins…all 10,000 of them ($100, for the math-challenged).
Fashion Choices: T-Shirts or Polos?
Decisions, decisions. Do we want t-shirts for ultimate comfort or polos for a touch of class? Cast your vote soon, but let’s keep it simple: one color only, because Aunt Louise ain’t having multi-colored shirts for our family.
Participation: A Call to Action (and Accountability)
Family, we need all hands on deck. Participation is non-negotiable. Haven’t been involved? Start now. Haven’t paid? Zelle is your friend. As a famous philosopher (probably a fellow South Carolinian) once said, “Teamwork makes the dream work.” Yeah, you know who it is!
Secretary Role: Where Are Our Notetakers?
We need a reliable secretary to keep track of minutes and action items. If you’re organized and have nice handwriting, congratulations! You’ve been voluntold.
Conclusion:
The January 4th. meeting was productive, hilarious and a reminder of why we love this family. With solid plans in place and September 13,14 & 15 locked in, the only thing missing is your participation.
Take Action:
Join the fun (and the planning)! Our next family meeting is on February 15th at 3 PM at Charlie’s house. Bring your ideas, your humor and yes, your $100 contribution. Let’s make this reunion one to remember.
*Keep Moving Forward!
