Week 3 deep reflective prompt for you, {{contact.first_name}}?

Peace be upon you,
I used to be so ungrateful about my eyes. You see, I was the only child out of 4 who had issues with her eyesight from a tender age. I found it very difficult to see clearly because of my high myopia and was supposed to use eye glasses from primary school. However, my father refused to get a pair for me because it was taboo for a child my age to use one. I was angry about it all because it tremendously affected my academic success in primary and part of secondary school. Many years as an adult, I used to ask myself, "Why me?" Why was it only me out of the four of us to have an eye problem. How ungrateful I was, right?
I started appreciating my unique tests some years back after realising that there are always a reason for something. Allah knows me so well and decreed that my eyesight was going to be one of my trials in this life. My gratitude knew no bounds after the incidence of a retina detachment which almost took away my sight but for a quick observation and diagnosis. Alhamdulillah. π€²
My sight is one thing that I'm really grateful to my Lord for but don't acknowledge enough in my daily life.
This week's prompt:
