Hi there, ,

Over the past few weeks, I've shared my plans to move our Projectkin Community Forum from our current home on Podia.com to a new installation on Substack.com. The setup has gone very well and I'm delighted to now invite you to move in.

Kindly point your browser here and tap subscribe:

Projectkin.Substack.com

That's pretty much it! So you know what to expect, when you subscribe to the community, you'll see:

  1. A few substacks I recommend (This will give you a sense of the family history neighborhood, you can skip subscribing to them.)
  2. The option to view on the web or download the Substack mobile app (The app IS great, but you can do this later too.)
  3. Finally, a place to sign in (This works as a magic link if you have an account or creates a new account for you.)

... and poof 💥, that's it. You're ready to explore.

I have a Welcome post ready for you describing the new terrain. As a Projectkin member, it should all look pretty familiar. A few key things to keep in mind:

  • Don't worry about bookmarks. Our home page at Projectkin.org has been updated with a link to this substack page at Projectkin.org/forum
  • You already know Eventbrite for events. All tickets (and links) to all coming events are still at Projectkin.Eventbrite.com (see below)
  • All event recordings, resources, and recipes are now linked from the Substack Chat feature. Look for the "🔐 Members' Chat Room" in the top right of the navigation bar. If you chat with multiple Substacks, that's fine (I won't be jealous). There's a chat icon in your account.

Also, I've moved all articles and event archives from Podia to Substack.

  • As new posts and chat threads are added, you'll get links via email.
  • When you download the Substack mobile app, you'll have the option to get notifications, read posts, and join me in chat on the go.

Once you're settled in, I'll start reaching out with new chat threads. I think this will be a much better way to engage in meaningful conversations.

Why this, and why now?

As you probably know, I've wanted to keep the content we share on Projectkin free for everyone. However, we've grown quite a bit faster than I'd expected and we were outgrowing the spit-and-bailing wire system I'd cobbled together with separate tools.

With Substack, I now have a single system for membership, and our interests are aligned, (it's free, plus no advertising 🎉). It should be more efficient and enjoyable. Again, as soon as you have a moment, just visit:

projectkin.substack.com/subscribe

But wait, there's more: Can't-miss events!

In the next two weeks, we have some of our best events yet scheduled — all led by Projectkin members, no less. I hope you can join us.

Tickets on Eventbrite, and of course, all free:

All event recordings, resources, and recipes will be added to Substack chat threads as soon as they're available. I plan to take the Podia.com forum offline by December 31. Between now and then most of the action will be over at Substack. Feel free to reach out with questions.

Again, thank you for coming along with me on this ride. I couldn't do it without you.

Warmly,
