It All Starts in the Meeting Room - Dante Scarnecchia

Coach ,

This week I will be sharing a short series I am calling “It all starts in the meeting room.”

In this series, we will hear from coaches who outline ideas of what works best in teaching players in the classroom setting.

Developing the mindset and skillset necessary to succeed on the field begins with developing a high football IQ, and the proper approach in the meeting room can really help put your team ahead.

While the coaches featured each day will be coaches of position groups that might be different than yours, the ideas they share will apply across teaching every position.

Let’s start with retired New England Patriots Offensive Line Coach Dante Scarnecchia. Coach Scarnecchia coached for the Patriots for 34 years, and Bill Belichick for 19 of those.

Players appreciate a coordinated and well-run meeting. As Coach says, “What you get from your position meetings is directly proportional to what you put into them.”

Coach Scarnecchia talks about an epiphany he had in his last fours years of coaching. He wishes he would have realized this much earlier in his career.

He explains that epiphany plus other tips on running a meeting room here (click on image to watch video).

Planning for your position's success starts with sound methods for how you will do everything including meetings.

The details shared in this series are designed to help you run the best room possible.

Always be growing!
