Coach ,

Lauren’s First and Goal Clinic never disappoints and every speaker does a through job with their presentations.

One can’t miss:

Kyle Flood - doesn’t matter what he is speaking on, I just never miss a Kyle Flood clinic.  It’s outside zone if you were wondering.

Here’s a clip of Coach Flood from the 1st LFG Clinic on Man Reach Technique:

Here’s the rest that have my attention:

Offense

Steven Ciocci, OL,  Bryant U. “Eliminating TFL's in Run Game: OL Fundamentals & Scheme”

Steve is another coach who never disappoints.  He has been impressive in his three previous years at LFG and he will be presenting at the C.O.O.L. Clinic this year as well.

Coach Ciocci teaches the counter in this video from the 3rd LFG Clinic:

Drew Belcher, Co-OC/QB Coach New Hampshire -  “Pass Game: Same Concepts out of Different Shapes”

I like concept based teaching and am interested in how Coach Belcher is creating “same as” teaching with their passing game.

James Patton, OL/RGC, Miami - ”Run Game Checks vs Pressure”

Pressure and simulated pressure have trended the past several years, and whether it’s the pass game of run game I am always interested in how to beat pressure because when you do, it usually results in an explosive play.

Pedro Arruzza - Head Coach, Randolph Macon “Weekly Practice Structure and Organization”

I met Coach Arruzza at Tony Franklin’s “OC Magic” years ago and then had him as a guest on Coach and Coordinator.  He is a highly detailed and organized coach, so I am excited to learn about the detail he puts into planning practice.

Ian Pace, WR COach, Colgate -  “5 for 6 & 6 for 6 Zone Scheme RPO”

I coached against Ian when he was in high school and am excited to see that he will be presenting at the clinic.  I am always interested in RPO and how coaches structure and utilize the RPO within their offense, so this should be a good one.

J.R. Davies, Calgary Stampeders- QB RPO Concepts Utilizing VR - Go Army Edge

I love the incorpporation of technology into teachong football concepts, especially when the technology is FREE to all coaches.

Winston October, WR, RIchmond - Post Snap Route Adjustments and Corresponding Pass Concepts

I’ve seen Coach October’s presentations before and he takes a very detailed approach to teaching wide receiver play.

Caleb Corrill, OC, St. Thomas - “Post Snap Route Adjustments and Corresponding Pass Concepts”

Coach Corrill has been on Coach and Coordinator recently and was a speaker at the D3 Top 25 Clinic.  He was the Hansen Ratings D3 Offensive Coordinator of the Yea. In Corrill’s six seasons as the offensive coordinator, the Lions have averaged 41.45 points per game and just over 460 yards per contest. The offense has shattered the record books at the Mount. His excellence at MSJ earned jim a new opportunity at the FCS level, as he was just named OC at St. Thomas University. He did an excellent job on the podcast and in the clinic and I am looking forward to seeing him again.

Matt Giampa - Abilene Christian  “Play action Vs. RPO in the Air Raid Offense:

Play Action - RPO - Air Raid…if this was a social media post we would suspect click bait! Coach definitely has my attention on this one and I am looking forward to how he fits these together into the high powered Air Raid offense.

Joe Gerbino, Co-OC/QB, Bethune-Cookman - “Offensive Wrinkles”

I’ve seen coach Gerbino clinic several times and he’s another past giaest on Coach and Coordinator. Another guy who is a great thinker on the game and teaches his concepts well. An I love the topic…I am always looking for an efficient way to add wrinkles.

Defense

Geoff Collins, DC, North Carolina “Creating Defensive Mayhem”

Coach Collins is back at it and leading the NC defense. I don’t like mayhem from a defense when I am on the offensive side of the ball, so this is one to pay attention to if you coach offense or defense.

Tremaine Jackson - HC, Valdosta St, 3-High Safety Defense

3-Safety Defense has been trending for a while now.  I look forward to seeing Coach Jackson’s version of it that they play at Valdosta St.

Marvin Clecidor, Penn - Defensive Back Play vs the 3 Levels of a WR’s Release

For an offensive guy I am attending this because we always coached the heck out of releases.  I am interested to see what Coach Clecidor has put together and is teaching.  I have seen his presentations before, so if you are attending this one, expect detail!

Here’s a clip of Coach Clecidor teaching coverage in the Red Zone:

Jesse Currier Layering Your Defense to Eliminate Explosives

I’ve had some good conversations recently about explosive plays.  They play a huge part in the scoring chances in any drive.  Just one explosive changes the scoring chances drastically.  It’s a matter of winning this battle.

Jefferey Long, HC, Moravian -  “Defense Game-planning: Attacking Protections and tendencies”

I think Jeff does an outstanding job.  Having a plan for protections and tendencies gives you an advantage.

Here’s a clip of a pressure from Bear in the 3rd LFG Clinic:

Vincent DiGaetano Simplifying Tackling Systems

Coach Dig is a regular on Lauren’s First and Goal as well as Coach and Coordinator. He is a tremendous teacher of the game and there is no one more passionate or as well studied on tackling as Coach Dig.  If you want to get your team better at tackling, be sure to watch this presentation.

Special Teams

Ben Kotwica, STC, Denver Broncos - Dominate the Punt Game while Winning with Technology

Coach Kotwica is passionate about Army Football (he’s an alumnus), and using technology to teach.  He presented last year on using technology to teach punt protection and he’s back to share more this year.

Here’s a little from last year’s presentation on teaching with technology from Coach Kotwica:

Sean Saturnio, STC, Army West Point - Creating a Get To Culture

Coach Saturnio’s teams have excelled at West Point.  He shared their punt block in the 1st LFG Clinic and they were #1 in the country then.  It’s not about scheme for coach, it’s about culture.

That’s just a sample.  Like every year, I will end up watching all of them.  You should too!

The tickets can be purchased for 30 day replays or for not that much extra, you can view these for a year.
