The Ole Miss offense is among the most prolific in the country in 2020 and that continues in 2021. In Lane Kiffin’s first campaign at the helm last season, they were #3 in Total Offense at 555.5 YPG. ( Passing 344.9 /Rushing 210.6), averaging 39.2 PPG.

Their dominance on offense continues in 2021. Currently, they are

#3 Total Offense 553.0

#4 Rushing Offense 262.8

#5 Scoring 43.7

#19 Pass Offense 290.2

All of this starts with their identity which Ole Miss OC Jeff Lebby says is “Fast. Fearless and Physical.”

Being Fast means that they play with great tempo. It starts with a detailed approach which Coach Lebby believes they do differently in that they spend a lot of time coaching the mechanics of tempo. Two components of this are the ball mechanics of how to get the ball back to the official and their use of a continuously recording tape to evaluate the mechanics and coach it.

Being Fearless is how they attack every single day.  They call the offense in a fearless fashion and they play with a fearless mentality.

As the stats show, the Rebels run a very balanced attack. The way they get it done is with a detailed approach of how they teach every aspect of the offense.

This could be a template for any offense that is looking to excel. Clearly, this is something that is working as the Rebels turned things around from an offense that was #82 at 26.6 points per game in 2019 to #5 in scoring at 43.7 points per game in 2021.
