Don’t Miss Coach Orgeron, Lincoln Riley, Tom Herman, Dave Aranda Live Next Week talking Ball

Coach ,

The COVID19 shut down opened up the world of zoom clinics with hundreds being held both formally and informally.  As things remain relatively shutdown, two huge opportunities to learn from the best coaches have opened up.  Every summer Louisiana and Texas each hold their clinics which many outside of those states do not attend, but this year anyone can attend virtually, which opens up an incredible chance to see coaches who I have not seen during the shutdown.

The Texas High School Coaches Association is the biggest state clinic in the country and draws top names.  I actually made the trip to attend one time and was blown away with the line-up.  Their virtual clinic packs that same punch.

Of course, being able to hear the national champion head coach is probably the biggest draw, and I am excited to hear from Coach Ed Orgeron on Building a Championship Program.

A Texas clinic wouldn’t be anything without the Longhorns, and head coach Tom Herman appears to introduce his defensive coordinator, Chris Ash speaking on Defensive Fundamentals and closes for his offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich speaking on Texas Intermediate Drop Back Passing Game. It has been exciting to watch Ash and Yurcich move through the coaching ranks, and they will not disappoint on the football knowledge they share.

Lincoln Riley, head coach Oklahoma, has been one of the hottest names in coaching for years and no one expects that to change anytime soon. He will be speaking on the Sooner offense, and I am excited to see some of the detail that makes their offense go. His defensive coordinator, Alex Grinch will also be here talking about the Sooner Defense.

New Baylor head coach Dave Aranda, fresh off coordinating a national championship for LSU will be talking about defending the spread.  Aranda disciples are all over college football, so it will be exciting to hear first hand from one of the brightest minds on defense. Baylor OC, Larry Fedora will talk on Building and Offensive Game Plan.

Tom Herman, Gary Patterson, Jimbo Fisher, Mike Bloomgren, Seth Litrell, Jake Spavital and Sonny Dykes will speak together on the D1 Coaches Panel.

This is also the chance to see great Texas High School Coaches like Todd Dodge - Westlake HS - who will speak on his 3x1 and 2x2 passing game. There will be other impressive Texas State Champion coaches and talks to discover from small college and Texas HS football.

And if you are looking to improve what you do as a head coach or become a head coach someday, you won't want to miss the THSCA Head Coach Academy Talks.

Louisiana High School Coaches Association also does an outstanding job with their yearly coaches clinic and this year’s is virtual and open to the entire country as well. Running July 20-23, their line-up is top-notch!

Coach O and all three of his coordinators will speak. Bo Pelini (DC), Steve Emsminger (OC)

and Greg McMahon (STC).

Lincoln Riley and Tom Herman both will make appearances here as well.

Growing up I remember watching the Bayou Classic every year, so having the rare opportunity to hear from both head coaches at the same clinic is huge.  Broderick Fobbs, Head Coach- Grambling will speak on Recruiting in 2020, and Southern Head Coach Dawson Odums will be speaking on Jaguar Football.

Other notable talks:

Cortez Hankton, PGC/WR, Georgia -  Stack and Bunch Passing Concepts

Pete Golding, DC, Alabama -Secondary Coverages

Derrick LeBanc, DL, Arkansas - Defensive Line Play and Drill Work

Patrick Tony, DC, Louisiana-Lafayette - Ragin’ Cajun Defense

The line-up is packed with successful small college and high school coaches from Louisiana as well.

These are two-can't miss opportunities to get your summer football fix and prepare for the 2020 season.  The best part is though they overlap, they are virtual so I can catch everything I want either live or in replay.

I know I will be attending, will you?

Coach Keith
