Coach Excellence Day 38 - Alcorn State Coaches Teach you a System to Attack the Entire D with RPO

Coach ,
The system starts with ensuring that the blockers are never blocking someone that the QB is reading. This is a universal process for all of their RPO packages. It starts with the detail of how the center IDs boxes in the run schemes and how that carries over across the whole offensive package.
Here is an example of how they ID the run in this video:
Alcorn State uses an RPO package that allows the WR's to call the best routes based on the given coverage look. Instead of trying to game plan the specific route used or calling it from the press box, the Coach Phillips trains the WR's to call route packages based on specific coverage looks. He does this by teaching how to diagnose multiple coverage looks to the two WR side and the Single WR Side.
The video below explains how they use the define the triangle with the corners:
ASU expands upon the rules of the Call It & Talk package including different navigational tags still using our count operation such as activation, kill, and Zorro. The Zorro package from Missile formation allows them to call their run to the best possible look while still utilizing activation rules.
Here is coach explaining how they activate “Zorro:”
The Access Package is something used by many offenses to take the “gift” that the defenses give them. The Access Package allows ASU to both play at tempo and take advantage of soft coverage while still utilizing the same count in their RPO operation.
Coach explains how the QB uses his progression to get to Access throws:
The coaches do think about the exact way to start the attack with the run game. They game plan runs each week to marry up with the different packages. They cover situations and variations such as formation, personnel, and backfield variations.
Here is an example of a variation they might use in their game plan.
Coach Wratten and Phillips teach the details of this package in their 5 part system. This is a complete approach to teaching RPO’s to your players.
If you are interested in exploring more the coaches give you the instruction in over 3 hours and 15 minutes of video in this system.
