Coach-

We thought you’d be interested in this series.

This is our summer series for offensive coordinators where we curate courses designed to give you tools to help you attack defenses this fall.

While specific concepts will be shared, the courses in this bi-weekly series are designed to help you take a deep dive into strategies to defeat defenses and apply to your own offense.

In this first part of the series we are focused on stressors that mess with fits and coverage. The way to accomplish this is with formations, motions, and shifts.

We’ve curated six courses into this bundle to help you strategize how you will use formations, motions and shifts to drive the defensive coordinator across the way crazy and confuse his players out on the field.

Here’s what’s in this bundle:

#1) Match-up issues and moving gaps with TE and H-Backs

Tight Ends, H-Backs, and Fullbacks are back! 11x state champion, 4x National Champion Chuck Kyle shares how his Wildcats utilized double H-backs within their offense.

In this course, Coach Kyle explains the Cleveland St. Ignatius Double H-Back Bunch Concept utilized to take advantage of their multiple tight end and H-Back personnel. H-backs utilzed correctly can present match-up and gap-fit issues.

#2) Go-Go with Backfield sets

UNLV Offensive Coordinator and QB Coach Brennan Marion shares the “duo” backfield set from his Go-Go Offense. Two running backs next to the quarterback on the right, three receivers out wide.

Coach Brennan Marion says, “you can run every run play that’s ever been created in football.” Incorporate in some unbalanced formations and a dash of tempo, and you’ll have the defense on their toes. Statistics have shown great improvement when running this formation.

#3) Utilize a “new school” unbalanced

The Unbalanced Overload Package is difficult to defend because not many teams do it!

In a generation of spread offenses, Coach David Marsh takes a throwback approach to attacking defenses with a newer spread philosophy.

He adapts to the personnel he has and utilizing the unbalanced formations and uses tempo to impact the defense.

This is something any offense can add to give the defense stressors, take away from their practice time, and get them to have to fit the run with personnel not usually fitting vs. traditional formations that everyone else uses.

#4) Drive them crazy with unusual formations

In this course you will see how Mike Volarvich uses unusual formations to attack a defense. By using unbalanced formations, stacked formations and variations of quad sets, the Scorched Earth Offensive system has set multiple records over the last decade. See how to add these unusuals to your playbook and score more points!

#5) Make them play in different spaces - expand and contract with empty and condensed

Utica Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator, Joe Gerbino, goes in depth about having variety in your offense to attack opponents. He gives information on how and why each concept should be utilized from formations that force defenders to play in condensed and wide open spaces. Expanding and contracting forces defenders to be uncomfortable because they are constantly in different positions.

#6) Force errors by using shifts and motions

Coach Simpson covers how to use Shifts/Trades/Motions to gain advantages in mulitiple ways. How to make simple concepts harder on a defense by moving players pre-snap. He shares the theory of shifting and motioning and applies it to attack how defensive coordinators think

These coaches do an excellent job showing how they stress the defense with formations, shifts, and motions.

We are releasing this to our entire community on Friday, but we thought you might want a sneak peek at it.
