Coach ,

It's always wise to learn from those who experience success, and in Texas, there are few better than Todd Dodge.

Westlake High School Head Coach Todd Dodge retired from coaching as a champion, winning the Texas UIL 6A D2 Championship.  It was Coach Dodge’s seventh state championship.

All of his championships came in the state's highest classification, and the record of those seven championship teams was 124-2. His overall record was 233-72.

Coach Dodge has won back to back to back state champions in Texas twice with 2 different schools.

Key to his success over his career has been the development of great quarterbacks.

Having won this year with the Nation's #1 rated QB Cade Klubnik.

Beginning with his 7th graders, Coach Dodge has a comprehensive plan for training quarterbacks in his program. He explains the approach of how it starts with eight at the middle school level narrowing that down to two quarterbacks by sophomore year (click images for video).

Having the quarterback who stands at the middle of the field in December and raises the state championship trophy begins with clear expectations. Beyond being an accurate passer, Coach Dodge shares the characteristics that he must see from his quarterback in this video (click on image for video):
