THE Football Clinic for College Coaches to Learn from their Peers

Feb 24, 2022 8:32 pm

Coach ,

Lauren’s First and Goal Virtual Clinic is back again and I am more excited than last year about this line-up with 130 College Coaches Sharing Virtually!

This has become the place for college coaches to learn from their peers.  While there are many clinics out there, few can boast of the depth of the speaker line-up which has something for every member of a coaching staff.

Just to give you an idea of how this serves every member of the staff, here’s the breakdown right now (more coming):

  • 17 Offensive Line Coaches
  • 14 Defensive Line Coaches
  • 6 Quarterback Coaches
  • 6 Running Back Coaches
  • 6 Receiver Coaches
  • 3 TE/FB Coaches
  • 6 Linebacker Coaches
  • 7 Defensive Back Coaches
  • 12 Special Teams Coaches

Plus keynotes from FBS head coaches

We appreciate you supporting this incredible cause as well as taking the time to learn the game and help your own program.

The one thing I can say about this clinic more than any other that I have been a part of is that it is full of the spirit of giving.  These college coaches who are presenting are giving their best in their presentations because this goes beyond the game.

Here are a few examples of the speakers and topics:

  • Dave Clawson, Head Coach at Wake Forest will be speaking about Wake’s unique RPO offense that incorporates the “slow mesh” to really stress the defense.

  • Jeff Traylor, Head Coach at UTSA has done an incredible job building their program, and he will share his insight on building a program.

  • Dan Doeren, Head Coach at NC State speaks on “Developing Team Culture”

  • Big XII Champion Defensive Coordinator at Baylor Ron Roberts will be speaking on creating a multiple-defense. Coach Roberts has always been at the forefront of defensive football schemes and strategies.

  • Tampa Bay Buccanneers OL Coach Joe Gilbert has been protecting Tom Brady these past two seasons, and he shares “Teaching the OT Pass Protection.”

FBS Defensive Coordinators

  • Manny Diaz - Penn State
  • Bryan Brown - Louisville
  • Chris Partridge -Ole Miss
  • Randy Bates- Pitt
  • DJ Eliot Temple
  • Blake Harrell - East Carolina

FBS Offensive Coordinators

  • Bill O’Brien - Alabama
  • Charlie Weiss, Jr, - Ole Miss
  • Phil Longo - North Carolina
  • Brent Dearmon - FAU
  • Eric Evans - Western Michigan
  • Sean Gleeson - Rutgers
  • Andy Sowder - Kent State

Don’t forget to check out some of the small college coaches’ presentations as well. We have:

  • Ryan Mauiri, OC-Central, who coordinated the #1 offense in Division 3
  • Matt Jones from UT Chatanooga who also runs the popular group “Linemen Lunch”
  • Casey Jacobsen who is a Football Scoop Coordinator of the year and helped Morningside to another NAIA National Championship
  • Travis Johansen, DC-South Dakota, has become a resource for many people on defense including Sports Illustrated who featured him in the article “The Search to Save NFL Defenses.”
  • Phil Kleckler, Head Coach Lindsey Wilson who was the Football Scoop 2020 NAIA Coordinator of the year
  • Scott Larkee, DC Harvard will be talking about “Multiple Coverages from 4-3 Split Safety Structure.” The Crimson were #4 in defensive passing efficiency and #5 in scoring defense

More coaches and topics will be announced this week. With 150 speakers, this clinic has something for every coach on your staff.  Every single position in the game is covered by multiple coaches, so taking away the proverbial “one thing” from this clinic is a forgone conclusion.

As I said, the spirit of sharing prevails throughout this clinic and these guys are here to help you grow as a coach.

We look forward to seeing you back at the 2nd Annual Lauren’s First and Goal Clinic and thank you in advance for your continued support of Pediatric Brain Tumor Research and cancer services.

Register for the 2nd Annual Lauren’s First & Goal Clinic. Save by bringing your entire staff.

Always be growing!
