Coming up this week.....

Dear ,
It was lovely to see lots of you at the Sussex Bay Creates: Living Sea 'meet the artist' event a couple of weeks ago. The exhibition was a huge success. Watch this space for the next instalment of this show as there are plans to show a second iteration in Brighton.
Two things happening this week...
But in the meantime coming up this week...
'The Stolen Orange'; an exhibition featuring over eighty painters, sculptors, writers, makers of all stripes making work celebrating the words of Mersey poet Brian Patten who was due to come to the exhibition but unfortunately has now passed away. It was decided to continue the show as a tribute to his work. Here is the poem in full:
When I went out I stole an orange
I kept it in my pocket
It felt like a warm planet
Everywhere I went smelt of oranges
Whenever I got into an awkward situation
I’d take out the orange and smell it
And immediately on even dead branches I saw
The lovely and fierce orange blossom
That smells so much of joy
When I went out I stole an orange
It was a safeguard against imagining
There was nothing bright or special in the world
Brian Patten

Cyanotype workshop
Also this week my first full day cyanotype workshop at Phoenix Artspace. A taster of all aspects of how to make cyanotype prints from photograms using objects & wet in wet techniques, making negatives, best practice of how to work with them & layering of images. Drawing on my experience of how to make the best prints possible.
I am delighted to hear that the day was fully booked as soon as the autumn listings were announced and I have been asked to do more more sessions next term already. You will hear it here first when the dates are confirmed so you can get first dibs if you fancy it.
All the best
Nina
