Sorry it's been a while, like lots of people I have had my head down working away trying to ignore Jan/Feb's bleak & coldness. The sun tried to hard to appear down here at Shoreham Port yesterday and was beautiful in a post apocalyptic kinda way...matching the current actual & political climate perhaps. Do let me know your thoughts if you feel moved.

Here are a few new works and exhibition news:

New work

While writing a funding proposal for research & development time for this year ahead and speaking to an academic at University of Portsmouth who has written a book about sea folklore and the supernatural, I was inspired to make drawings. You may recall the start of the drawings in my last newsletter. They became an emblematic drawing full of sea myth, folklore, sea creatures, weather & body systems and now I have made that into hand embellished screen prints.

The top images is a finished piece followed by details of & the bottom a work in progress.

This week I'm back into the print room at Little Rivers Press (in The Open Market, Brighton) with some new ideas...looking forward to showing the outcome of that to you. I had a brilliant time there learning the process a few weeks ago & I highly recommend doing a workshop if you are thinking of making some screen prints. https://www.littleriverpress.co.uk/

I am excited to have an epoxy resin sculptural painting in this exhibition starting next Saturday 1st March - 15th March see the details below if you would like to see Sussex Artists work from across the region.

With the ambition to be the biggest exhibition of Sussex-linked artists and makers possible in one beautifully curated exhibition.

This epoxy resin painting is moulded from every day plastics. Highlighting the impact of non recyclable plastics and dumping of these plastics in the sea and in the land.
