LAST CHANCE TO SEE!
May 14, 2024 11:54 am
Dear good people,
Hope you have enjoyed the festival and gorgeous weather over the weekend! Thank you to those that managed to come along....so lovely to see your faces and catch up!
The open studios weekend meant visitor numbers to my show were boosted... the first weekend we had over 1000 people through the door this last weekend there were 500 people in 2 hours on the Friday night alone without including Saturday & Sunday.
So last chance to see the exhibition is this week/weekend! Open between Wednesday 15th May - Sunday 19th May, 11-5pm. It will be a quieter weekend so more chance to catch up.
I will be there Saturday 18th to answer questions about the work in the show if you have any as an informal closing to the show between 12-3pm.
Also open to meeting up on Sunday 19th by appointment so get in touch if you fancy a cuppa then.

About the exhibition:
‘Entangle’ a solo exhibition by Nina Garstang.
Reflecting submersion in the sea and our effect upon the ecology of it.
To be entangled may be emotional, philosophical or physical in a complicated or compromising relationship or situation. From the depths of the seabed to the light glimmering on the surface, from the molecular to the hyperobject and from the symmetry of forms found everywhere from our innermost bodily workings to the outer universe. From the literal entanglement of sea creatures in discarded plastic waste and fishing nets to the emotional entanglement of our part in the rise of global temperatures and our philosophical responsibility to the threatened ecosystems. Nina explores these aspects through painting, cyanotype prints, sculptural elements and video.
Garstang studied her MA in Painting at the Royal College of Art where she received the Stanley Smith Scholarship. She paints in her studio in Brighton, swims, records light in water and collects sea treasure washed ashore after storms.
Still on.....
Finally I'm in this Artist Open House at a new space in town, it's a Salon Show of some of the most interesting artists I know. Open every weekend in May at 18 Tichborne Street, right in the centre of town.
Looking forward to seeing you!
