Hi ,
Check out the new logo 👀 I think it looks pretty awesome and I'm glad I got the kittens in time so the cat and moon made sense.
Happy Valentine's week! I don't really celebrate it, but I did go dinner with my boyfriend and treat myself to a mini book haul. I mean, it would be rude not to read a bunch of new paranormal romance books this week. In other news, I am nearing the end of writing book two and I have some news about the series.
Before I forget, the February Shifter's Book Fair ends on February 28th. Wolf Bait is on the list alongside some pretty awesome books!
UPDATES/NEWS
I put up a Tiktok post about it this morning, but I will be changing the cover on Wolf Bait. Unfortunately, I had to changed designer and in order to keep the series cohesive, I'll be recovering the first book.
Authors changing covers mid series is a pet peeve of mine, so this isn't a decision I made lightly. Wolf Bait is an awesome book, so hopefully the new cover fits the genre a bit better and I have devised a plan for readers who might be upset about this change.
This new version along with books in the rest of the series are still the same size. So, the only thing on your shelf that might look different is the spines. If you don't care about that, awesome! If you do care about them all matching exactly, when I get the new Wolf Bait cover, I will upload the new version to Amazon and drop the paperback price down as far as possible. I'll be keeping the price down for two weeks and I'll email a reminder when the new version goes up.
Again, I am so sorry I have to do this but the new cover coming along is looking amazing so far and I think it's going to be a good thing for the series.
WRITING UPDATE
I spent part of last week rereading the first half of Blood Moon before it went to my editor and damn, I'm pretty funny! This book has gone off the rails in the best way and I am so excited for you guys to read it.
Because you guys are so great, I'll give you a sneak peek at what I wrote yesterday 😋
“I swear, I have a year’s experience as a barmaid and that is the fourth glass I’ve broken in my entire career.”
Jonas chuckled, the rich sound bringing a smile to my lips despite the embarrassment heating my cheeks. No one in the bar even seemed to notice my mistake, too busy chatting to others on bar stools, hiding out in the snugs, or getting hot and heavy on the dance floor.
I quickly learned that none of the staff judged me, everyone was lovely and eager to help me settle in. Probably because most of them were young—anything from twenty to a hundred years old, yeah—vampires that the owner Darius had taken in. They all respected Jonas and because I was in his good books, they were happy to help me out.
Although, from the way Alec was choosing to serve a handsy cyclops with a roving eye down the other end of the bar over dealing with my mess, he might have been a little bit over my shenanigans for the night.
When I wasn’t breaking stuff, I was asking questions. Or fucking up orders, but how was it my fault that a Bloody Mary meant something entirely different if the person ordering had fangs?
I had thought starting on a busy weekend night would be a good way to get into the swing of things, but I had seriously underestimated the ability of paranormals to knock back their drink. I’d also made the very human mistake of presuming they drank normal alcohol. Some did, but there was a book full of speciality cocktails including everything from Fae wine all the way to type O negative blood that I needed to know off by heart or else these were going to be night shifts from hell.
BOOK DEALS
This is one that really caught my eye this week. Sometimes fantasy books can feel very similar (which is fine!) and I wanted a change.
A stoic warrior-maiden and a villainous priest-king make the most unlikely alliance in the history of the five kingdoms.
When a rescue attempt to save a clutch of dragon eggs from the soul mages goes terribly wrong, Warrior-Priestess Verdria of High Rock finds herself on the wrong side of a portal, deep in enemy territory.
She soon learns she’s in the heart of the soul mage’s empire and when Honryn, the future priest-king of the mages, takes a liking to Verdria and saves her life, she’s pretty sure she’s facing down a ‘fate worse than death’ scenario.
Just when she thinks things can’t get any worse, Priest-King Honryn introduces her to the Royal Court of the Soul Mages, the most morally corrupt and bloodthirsty court in existence.
Life is cheap.
Souls are currency.
And Verdria has caught the fancy of the young priest-king, and while he doesn’t want to steal her soul, he’s set on winning her heart.
And she’s equally set on having his heart, after she’s carved it out of his chest.
But when she discovers Honryn’s most monstrous secret, a secret he’s even hiding from his fellow soul mages, she’s moved to pity and offers to aid him.
I've also found these goodies! They're all either paranormal or fantasy romance, and either in Kindle Unlimited or discounted 🥰
Once I have the covers sorted and the full draft finished, there will be news on the official release date for Blood Moon (PREORDER IS OPEN NOW!). I'll also be updating the website next week with a rebrand. I am still working on sorting out signed copies—bear with me while I try to understand tax implications etc., I don't have the brain for it!
I still have some spots left on my Street Team—check out the form HERE if you're interested in joining!🥰
We also have the FB reader group Ciara Delahunt’s Reader Den where we talk everything Wolf Bait. Feel free to throw PNR recs in there, or chat about anything TVD, new shows, anything goes!
