Visibility isn't about everyone knowing you

Howdy ,

Most professionals get this wrong.

They think visibility means:

·       Being loud in every meeting

·       Posting on LinkedIn constantly

·       Making sure everyone knows what they're doing

That's exhausting. And often counterproductive.

Here's the truth:

Visibility is about the right people knowing you for the right things.

Not everyone. Just 3-5 people whose perception of you will affect your next opportunity.

  • Your boss.
  • Your boss's boss.
  • Key stakeholders.
  • Sometimes HR or a project sponsor.

Then ask yourself:

"How often do they see my work in a meaningful way?"

Not through status updates.

Not through email noise.

Through important moments where your impact is undeniable.

This is strategic visibility:

·       Bringing them into high-stakes decisions

·       Sharing outcome stories at the right time

·       Letting them see you solve problems that matter to them

You're not spamming them. You're intentionally visible when it counts.

In this week's podcast episode, [Youtube] [Apple Podcasts] [Spotify] [Amazon Music],  I walked through exactly how to identify those 3-5 people and create visibility moments that feel natural, not political.

Here's your weekend reflection:

Who are your 3-5 people?

Write their names down.

What do they currently think you do?

Be honest.

What do you want them to know you for in 90 days?

That's your starting point.

Keep winning at work and in life,
