Your 60-second career diagnostic
Howdy ,
Today, I will deliver what I promised yesterday.
A quick diagnostic for you to use.
Read these three scenarios and notice which one makes you think, "That's me."
SCENARIO 1: The Pressure Crack
You're good at what you do. Maybe even excellent. But when responsibility increases, or stakes get high, you start showing cracks:
• Missing deadlines you used to hit easily
• Stress affecting your sleep or health
• Snapping at colleagues when overwhelmed
• Avoiding opportunities because "I can't take on more"
If this is you: Foundation issue. Your capacity can't support the complexity you're managing.
SCENARIO 2: The Plateau
You're reliable. People count on you. You handle pressure well. But you've hit a ceiling:
• Haven't learned anything significant in years
• Avoiding challenges outside your comfort zone
• Getting passed over for roles requiring new skills
• Feeling left behind as your field evolves
If this is you: Edge issue. Your capabilities aren't expanding with market demands.
SCENARIO 3: The Bottleneck
You're talented and capable. You can handle pressure. But your impact is limited:
• Everything runs through you personally
• Your team underperforms when you're absent
• You work long hours because delegation feels harder than doing it yourself
• Your scope can't grow because you can't multiply your impact
If this is you: Scale issue. You haven't learned to create impact beyond your direct involvement.
Here's what matters:
All three matter. But you can't fix everything at once.
The professionals who break through identify their PRIMARY constraint and address it systematically.
Foundation problems kill careers fastest; you burn out or self-sabotage before skill development matters.
Edge problems create a slow decline; you become obsolete while staying reliable.
Scale problems create artificial ceilings; your excellence becomes your prison.
Which one is YOUR constraint right now?
Tomorrow, I'll show you what happens when you develop in the wrong sequence.
Keep winning at work and in life
