5 Questions That Reveal if You Should Quit or Commit

Howdy ,

Why did you pick the job you do?

Was it the pay? Was it your passion? Was it your dream job?

Or did someone con you to take the job?😀😀

No matter how you got into the job, you should ask yourself 5 questions to determine whether you can continue staying and prospering on the job.

  1. What are the top 5 skills to excel fast on the job?
  2. What are my top 5 skills that I bring to the job?
  3. Where are the gaps in the skills I bring and the skills the work requires?
  4. Can I bridge the skills gap?
  5. If "Yes", develop a plan to bridge the gap. If "No", develop a plan to find a job that matches your skills to the job skills required

This is your quick Job Progress Capability Assessment (JPCATM). 💪

Your JPCAâ„¢ is brilliant for cutting through the career confusion that so many professionals face. Let me help you wrap this up with some powerful finishing touches:

Taking Action on Your JPCAâ„¢ Results

Once you've completed your Job Progress Capability Assessment, the real work begins. Your answers will fall into one of three scenarios:

Scenario 1: Perfect Match

Your skills align beautifully with job requirements. Congratulations! Now focus on mastering those skills at an even higher level. Look for stretch assignments, mentorship opportunities, and ways to become the go-to expert in your field.

Scenario 2: Bridgeable Gaps

You've identified skill gaps but they're totally conquerable. This is where most successful professionals find themselves. Create your skill development plan with specific timelines, resources (books, courses, mentors), and measurable milestones. Remember: the gap between where you are and where you need to be is just a bridge waiting to be built.

Scenario 3: Fundamental Mismatch

Sometimes the honest answer is that you're in the wrong job entirely. That's not failure – it's clarity! Use this insight to research roles that better match your natural strengths and interests. Your current experience isn't wasted; it's valuable intel for your next career move.

The JPCAâ„¢ Promise

When you regularly assess your job fit using these five questions, you stop being a passive passenger in your career and become the driver. You'll spot opportunities earlier, prepare for challenges proactively, and make decisions from a place of strength rather than desperation.

Your career isn't something that happens to you – it's something you actively create. The JPCA™ puts you back in control.
