The task left your desk. Did it leave your head?

Howdy ,

There is a difference between delegating work and transferring responsibility.

I can give you a task and still carry it mentally.

Has it been done?

Should I follow up?

Did they remember that conversation?

Will I have to step in at the last minute?

The task has left my desk.

But it has not left my head.

That is expensive.

Because the whole point of delegation is supposed to be capacity.

If I still have to supervise, remind, correct and worry, I have transferred the work but not the weight.

Now think about the people you trust most.

You give them something important and almost immediately stop thinking about it.

Not because you don't care.

Because you know they do.

That is a different level of trust.

And it is one of the clearest signs that someone is ready for bigger responsibility.

So here is today's question:

When your leader gives something to you, does it actually leave their head?

If the answer is no, don't be defensive.

Get curious.

What are they still worried about?

That answer may show you exactly where you need to grow.

Keep winning at work and in life,
