If I give this to you, can I rest?

Howdy ,

Every serious opportunity carries an unspoken question:

"If I put this in your hands, can I rest?"

Not: Are you intelligent?

Not: Do you have potential?

Not even: Have you delivered before?

Those matter.

But trust goes further.

Let me repeat my working definition of trust:

Trust is the peace of mind that I will do what I said, the way I said it, every single time.

Notice the phrase "peace of mind."

That is what people are buying when they entrust you with something consequential.

They are betting that they will not need to chase you constantly, reinterpret your promises, manage your reactions, or wonder whether the standard will change when pressure arrives.

Your executive value rises when people can hand you something important and redirect their attention elsewhere.

So here is today's diagnostic: Who in your organisation can give you something difficult and genuinely stop worrying about it?

Now make it harder: What is one consequential thing someone above you still does not seem comfortable leaving entirely in your hands?

If you know the answer, hit reply with just that.

Keep winning at work and in life
