What would stop if you disappeared for 30 days?

Howdy ,

If everything important still requires you, your organisation may be performing…but it is fragile.

You approve everything.

You rescue difficult conversations.

You carry the key relationships.

You provide the judgment.

You are the quality-control mechanism.

You are proud of how indispensable you are.

That is understandable.

It is also dangerous.

Because personal capacity has a ceiling.

Leverage begins when clarity, judgment, standards, systems and people can carry consequential work without constant executive rescue.

That is different from delegation.

Delegation says: "Do this task."

Leverage says: "You understand enough of how we think, decide and define good that you can carry this outcome."

The goal of senior leadership is not to become less valuable.

It is to make your value travel through other people.

So run the test: If you disappeared from work for 30 days, what would stop?

If the answer exposes something consequential that you want to change, this is exactly the kind of situation I use a Trusted Executive Consultation to examine.

Just reply to this email…No need to diagnose yourself first.

Keep winning at work and in life
