Are You Leading From Your Strengths Or Your Struggles?
Howdy ,
Yesterday, I shared the 4 leadership archetypes.
Today, I want to help you identify which one energizes you most.
Here's a quick exercise:
Think about the last time you felt truly energized while leading your team. Not just successful – energized. Like you were in your element.
Now ask yourself:
Were you...
- Inspiring the team with a big vision and getting them excited about possibilities? (Rock Star)
- Having a deep conversation that got to the heart of an issue and created real transformation? (Bridge Builder)
- Teaching or explaining something complex in a way that made everything click? (Ideator)
- Introducing a new approach or challenging the way things had always been done? (Innovator)
Your answer points to your primary leadership type.
Now think about a recent time when leadership felt draining – even if you got results.
I'm willing to bet you were operating outside your natural style.
How would you like to be like a department head who discovers: "I realized I'd been trying to be the visionary leader for two years. No wonder I was exhausted. I'm naturally an Innovator – I come alive when I'm solving problems and creating new solutions."
Which type feels most natural to you?
Keep winning at work and in life.
