What are you doing this weekend?

Howdy ,

What are you doing this weekend?

Don't wait till Friday. Thursday is a good day to plan for it.

Here's why I'm asking you this on a Thursday afternoon...

Most career professionals treat weekends like an afterthought. They stumble into Saturday morning with no plan, spend Sunday dreading Monday, and wonder why they never feel truly refreshed.

But here's what I've learned helping career professionals avoid burnout: Your weekend isn't just downtime - it's strategic recovery time.

And strategic recovery requires intentional planning.

The Thursday Planning Advantage

When you plan your weekend on Thursday, you're making a powerful statement: My personal time matters as much as my professional time.

You're also giving yourself something to look forward to during those final work hours on Friday. Instead of limping toward the weekend, you're moving toward something intentional.

Three Types of Weekend Activities You Need

Based on working with professionals across three continents, I've noticed that the most resilient, energized people include three types of activities in their weekends:

1.  Renewal Activities - Things that restore your energy (sleep, nature, quiet time, spiritual practices)

2.  Connection Activities - Time with people who matter to you (family dinners, friend gatherings, community involvement)

3.  Growth Activities - Pursuits that develop you outside of work (hobbies, learning, creative projects, physical challenges)

Your Thursday Planning Ritual

Take 15 minutes right now and ask yourself:

•    What would make this weekend feel successful for me personally?

•    Which of my renewal activities do I most need right now?

•    Who do I want to spend quality time with?

•    What would I do if I had no work obligations at all?

Then block time for at least one activity from each category.

Remember: You're not just planning a weekend. You're designing the foundation for a strong week ahead.

The professionals who consistently perform at their best aren't the ones who work the most hours - they're the ones who recover most completely.

So, what are you doing this weekend?

Make it count,

Keep winning at work and in life.
