3 Simple Skills That Transform How People Experience You

Howdy ,

Yesterday we talked about why coaching skills matter for everyone.

Today, I want to get practical and share the three specific skills that will transform how people experience working with you.

Skill #1: The Power Pause Before jumping into solution mode, take a breath and ask: "Tell me more about that." Most people rarely feel truly heard at work. When you pause and invite them to expand, you're giving a gift that costs you nothing but creates enormous value.

Skill #2: The Possibility Question Instead of asking "What's wrong?" try "What would success look like here?" This simple shift moves conversations from problems to possibilities. It's amazing how this changes the energy and opens up creative thinking.

Skill #3: The Ownership Bridge End conversations by asking: "What's your next step?" This helps people move from thinking to action while maintaining their ownership of the solution.

Here's your experiment for today: Pick one of these skills and use it in three different conversations. Notice what happens to the dynamic, the energy, and the outcomes.

Tomorrow, I'll share why coaching skills are especially powerful for building cross-cultural relationships and navigating diverse teams.

Cheering you on

Keep winning at work and in life.
