When I had to call for backup (and why you might too)

When I was about to start my multi-country work experience, I felt a bit under-prepared for the experience.

So, I reached out to Dr Sam Adeyemi for a meet-up. He graciously accepted.

I wanted to be fully present at the meeting so I asked him if I could record our conversations instead of taking notes.

He also acceded to that.

We spent about 30 minutes together, and he gave me great advice. I still refer to the recording of our time together occasionally. There are still things I pick from it.

It is smart to know when you are swimming in a big lake. It’s even smarter to know that you need to call in help to navigate such times.

I am not dumb to think I’m so smart I can do everything by myself.
