Intention is not a delivery system
Howdy ,
Let me be straight with you before we close out this week.
Most of the professionals I know are not failing because they don't care. They care deeply. They mean well. They want to deliver. They genuinely intend to do what they said.
But meaning well is not a delivery system.
And the gap between what you intended and what actually landed?
Your client felt it. Your manager filed it away. Your colleague noted it. Nobody said anything ...but something shifted.
Quietly.
The referral that didn't come. The project that went to someone else. The room you weren't invited into.
That is the cost of good intentions without architecture.
Here is what I want you to do today.
Pick one commitment...just one...that you have made to someone in your professional life. And ask yourself three questions.
Is it specific enough that both of you know exactly what "done" looks like? Do you have a structure...not just willpower...for making sure it happens?
And will the person on the other end feel peace of mind before it's even finished?
If the answer to any of those is no, you have found your gap.
Start there. Fix that one. Then build from it.
This is how trust becomes your career's most valuable asset...not all at once, but one kept promise compounding into the next.
You've got this.
Keep winning at work and in life.
