The Growth Note | Storytelling is the Shortcut to Trust
Read it. Feel it. Do something with it.

Hey you,
This week was awesome!
I had the honor of MCing and speaking at the BNI Tampa Annual Summit 2025, standing in front of more than 600 professionals. The room was buzzing with energy — leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators all gathered to sharpen their skills and grow their businesses.
And the highlight? Spending time with Kindra Hall. Not just hearing her keynote, but connecting with her personally. She’s as genuine as she is brilliant, and I’m grateful to now call her a friend.
In her keynote, Kindra reminded us of something we all know deep down but often forget in business: stories beat bullet points every time.
That’s because stories don’t just share information — they build trust.
3 Reasons Storytelling is a Shortcut to Trust
1. Stories Create Emotional Connection
A list of services informs. A story of a client you helped inspires. People make decisions with emotion first, logic second.
2. Stories Make You Memorable
A bulleted list fades as soon as the meeting ends. A story sticks. It paints a picture in someone’s mind — and pictures are easy to retell.
3. Stories Drive Action
Facts rarely move people. Stories do. They shift behavior: a customer says yes, a team commits, a referral gets made.
2 Quotes to Reflect On
“Stories are a shortcut to connection.” – Kindra Hall
“Marketing is no longer about the stuff you make, but about the stories you tell.” – Seth Godin
1 Stretch for the Week
This week, instead of telling someone what you do, tell them a short story of how you helped someone.
Notice how it lands differently. Notice how much easier it is for them to remember — and retell — your value.
If this week’s Growth Note landed with you, forward it to someone who needs the reminder that their best asset isn’t their facts — it’s their stories.
More soon — until then, speak boldly.
