The Monthly $300 Child Tax Credit
As you may have heard, the government will be offering a $300 tax credit (aka payment) to families with children who meet certain income guidelines.
These monthly $300 payments will begin to go out on July 15th.

It is important to note that this is not a stimulus payment.
Think of it as an advance on the income you could receive next year during tax season. What this means is anyone who takes the monthly child tax credit could see a reduced tax refund check next year. If you like big refund checks or if you typically owe Uncle Sam, then maybe this monthly advance isn't right for you. Confirm that with your tax guy or tax lady though.
That being said for families who need the financial help right now, these monthly payments could be a much needed relief.
