The Drawback to Morning Audiobook Recording

In addition to being an author, I’m an audiobook narrator. On narration days, I like starting in the morning. However, sometimes, well, the timing isn’t great. Here’s a Tweet I sent yesterday morning.

Yep … I never realized how loud my belly could be until I started recording audiobooks. And it’s not that I have a particularly troublesome gut; it’s just that those sounds most of us ignore can, unfortunately, be picked up by microphones. At least I can laugh at it (and delay my recording a bit if needed)!

So if you think audiobook narration is a glamorous career, just remember my belly (and my sweat-inducing, unventilated closet studio!) Thankfully, I love doing it, even with such less-than-pleasant challenges.

I love both audiobooks and “real” books. Here are some recommendations for tales you might want to read this week.
