Wedding Ring Nightmare

The play I’m in opened last Friday. It was a blast!

Then I got home and realized … my wedding ring was missing. I’d taken it off along with my watch before the show, and I’d put the ring on the watch band before fastening the band around my purse strap. Apparently when I put on the watch after the show, I forgot about the ring!

I was incredibly stressed about it. It’s not just a ring, it’s an heirloom. It belonged to my mother-in-law when she was married to my father-in-law. He passed away before I met my husband, and my mother-in-law got remarried. My husband ended up giving his mom’s old ring to me, and I’ve always loved it.

I looked through my purse. No luck. We went back to the park where we’re doing the play. It was about 11 p.m.

I found it on backstage (an asphalt area behind the outdoor stage). As soon as I picked it up, I started sobbing!

All’s well that ends well, I guess … though I felt like the stress of the situation took years off my lifespan!

I’m thankful for this ring and all it represents.
