Best Muffins

We returned home from New Orleans to find a few overripe bananas in our kitchen. I'm not normally one for banana bread, but for some reason, banana muffins sounded good. I got online and found a recipe (Best Ever Banana Nut Muffins from The Busy Baker). This recipe has nuts inside the batter AND on top of each muffin.

And, y'all ... they were so good. I did make one alteration to the recipe: I used mixed nuts instead of walnuts. (I used Kirkland Signature Extra Fancy Unsalted Mixed Nuts from Costco.)

My husband and I agreed they're the best banana-nut muffins we've ever had. Check out this pic.
