This Cake Was a Hit

As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, I’m currently acting in a play. One of my fellow actors had a birthday, so I made this cake for her.

It was a big hit! The recipe is for blackberry cake. One of the ways it’s flavored is with blackberry Jell-O, but I didn’t see that flavor at the store, so I used raspberry. I'd love to try it as written next time, but it was seriously delicious just like this. I'd say any berry- or cherry-flavored Jell-O would work well. Even lemon-flavored would be a nice "twist" (pun intended). 

The frosting is a whipped cream frosting with a bit of cream cheese in it, and it’s my favorite new frosting. I suspect I’ll go back to the recipe over and over. (In fact, I still have some frosting in the fridge, and I’m enjoying eating it by the spoonful!)
