Important Update

As many of you know, my husband, Jason, was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer a year and a half ago.

Unfortunately, last week they discovered that the cancer has entered the cerebrospinal fluid in his brain. This condition is called leptomeningeal disease, and it’s a very, very difficult diagnosis.

He had a shunt placed in the hospital to help relieve the pressure in his brain, which has helped some with his symptoms. We’re currently sitting at the radiation oncology office, waiting for him to get his first of ten whole-brain radiation treatments. We hope this will further alleviate his headaches, fatigue, and other symptoms that have been debilitating. The treatments will also hopefully slow the progression of this aggressive cancer.

We have some very challenging months ahead. I may not send out any newsletters for a while, after this one.
