Our Family's Mediterranean Vacation

Sunday, our family (my husband, our two teens, and I) returned from a Mediterranean vacation. We landed in Barcelona, went on a 7-day cruise the next day, then came back to Barcelona for 3 days. Barcelona ended up being my favorite city that we visited, and I definitely want to go back!

Here are pics of some of the highlights:

We visited Pompeii, and it was definitely a highlight. I had no idea what a big city it was and how much has been uncovered! Here's their smaller ampitheatre.

We enjoyed so much good food. Here I am with amarena-cherry flavored gelato. Mmmmmmmmm.

In Barcelona, we traveled up a mountain to Montserrat Monastery. The views were incredible!

Sagrada Familia, the basilica that Gaudi designed (which is still being built after 140+ years), was the most incredible building anyone in my family has ever visited. It was jaw-dropping!

I took hundreds of pics, and I almost wish I could share them all! But I hope this sample gives you an idea of what a special trip this was from my family.

Many of you know my husband, Jason, was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer a year ago. Unfortunately, the PET scan he had right before our trip showed that the cancer has spread. As I write this, we're sitting at the oncology office, where he's starting a new line of treatment (two new meds). We appreciate your thoughts and prayers as we continue this journey as a family. Being able to take this trip as a family was so important to us, and I'm very grateful!
