Two months

Two months since we said goodbye.

Jason, you’d be glad to know we’re making it. We’re laughing more than we’re crying. We’re finding memories of you everywhere.

We’re forging new paths. This summer, Ana and I will be taking a class online at ACC, and in the fall, we’ll both be there in person to start our prerequisites for nursing school. You were so supportive of both of us, and I know you’d think it’s SO cool that the timing worked out where we can even take all our classes together. I’m hoping to work in oncology, just like you and I talked about. Ana is thinking pediatric GI may be the perfect specialty for her.

I’m still narrating audiobooks and loving it … and writing my memoir helps me heal and feel closer to you.

Eli will start his senior year in the fall. He’s continuing to rock things academically, and I know you’d be getting a kick out of the cool projects he does for graphic design class—and out of the DMing he’s still doing for the occasional D&D meetups he and Ana have with their friends. They’re using your old dice—I found them when I was going through your stuff.

Your mark will always be here, on each of us and on so many people beyond our family.

We love you, and we miss you.
