Gearing Up For a Fight

Three weeks ago, we got some tough news. My husband, Jason, was diagnosed with stomach cancer.

This week, we found out it's metastatic, which means the fight we're gearing up for is a big one.

The good news is, he's relatively young and otherwise very healthy, so the doctors can treat this more aggressively than they normally would. He'll start chemo in a couple of weeks.

If you're the praying sort, we appreciate your prayers. And if you reply to this email with encouraging words, please be aware that I don't currently have the bandwidth to reply to most messages, but I appreciate them nonetheless.

Cancer is a big part of our lives now, but here's the thing: I still love books. I still plan to release Beauty and Deceit on July 11, and I'm working hard to finish recording the audiobook! This will remain a newsletter about books, with little tidbits about my non-book life added in.

I'll only give occasional updates on our cancer journey in this newsletter, but I do have a dedicated newsletter where I'm sharing frequent updates. Click the button below if you'd like to subscribe.
