Update on Jason's new treatment

Hi friends,
I have an update on Jason's treatment!
- Side effects from his new systemic treatment of paclitaxel (chemo) and ramucirumab (monoclonal antibody) have been really manageable—overall quite a bit milder than we anticipated!
- We're tracking an antigen called CEA that his cancer produces. They tested it two weeks ago, then again today. It went down, which is great news. CEA doesn't give us a definite indication of how things are going, but it means there's a good chance his cancer is responding to the new treatment.
- He's dealing with some annoying and at times painful side effects from the radiation he had. Those are likely to subside in time.
- He's still working, mowing the lawn, playing guitar, and working out, and we're so grateful he feels good enough for all of that.
Jason and I have a couple of trips planned in the last half of 2024. It always feels good to get away from it all together, and travel has proven to be a great way for us to keep our spirits up and feel restored.
As always, if you're a praying person, please spare some for us! Specifically, we want the new treatment to work for a long time; we want side effects to remain mild; and we'd love to see the radiation side effects go away.
This process comes with a lot of challenges—it ain't easy! Thank you so much for being our friends and supporting us so consistently.
-Beth and Jason
