Update on Jason:

PET scan results came back.

GOOD NEWS: No obvious metastatic tumors found.

BAD NEWS: The PET scan didn't give us enough info about the concerning lymph nodes to know if they're cancerous or not. 

NEXT STEPS:

1. Second opinion w/MD Anderson (in the process of scheduling).

2. Endoscopy ultrasound, which will determine how deep the cancer is in the wall of the stomach (hope to schedule tomorrow).

3. Surgical oncology consultation on June 7. We'll likely schedule a staging laparoscopy. This is a laparoscopic surgery that allows the surgeon to look for small metastases in the abdomen. 

Both those procedures will help the doctor determine what stage the cancer is at & how it will be treated.

The waiting is hard, but stomach cancer isn't a cancer that's super aggressive or quick moving. So it's okay that we have to wait a couple of weeks to talk to the surgeon, and it might be nice to have a bit of time to enjoy ourselves and breathe/rest a bit.
