Worst typo I ever published
Jun 17, 2020 4:26 pm
Want to hear about the best/worst typo I’ve published?
When I sent out The Frost Eater to early reviewers in late 2019, one of them sent me a typo that dozens of other people missed. You may have to read it a few times before you see the mistake, but once you do, it’s a doozie. Ready?
“He could even sense the soft leather of his shoes, despite the socks between his skin and his feet.”
Are you laughing yet...or shuddering at the thought of socks between skin and feet?
I fixed the error, but if you have a signed paperback or an audiobook, you got the uncorrected version. I’d like to think it makes those particular paperbacks more valuable!
Almost all books have errors, whether they’re published by Random House or a random indie author! At least we can get a good laugh out of the mistakes.
I’ll never promise perfection, lest someone call me out on it. But I’m confident that The Vine Eater, which releases next Tuesday 6/23, is a quality product, and early reviewers are loving it. Check out the trilogy here, and if you haven’t yet downloaded your free copy of the prequel, The Seer’s Sister, what are you waiting for?
