{{contact.first_name}}, yes, the snow stalked me, and it hates me (plus book recommendations)

Remember when I said last week that the snow might be stalking me? Well, I was right...and apparently the snow (and ice) are mad and out for revenge (though I’m not sure what I ever did to make them mad!)

Here in Texas, we’ve experienced “the storm of the century. Ice, followed by snow, shutting things down. Temperatures have been far lower than usual, leading to overloaded electric grids and rolling blackouts. We have it easier than many; the longest we’ve been out of power at one time was three hours. However, we have very little water pressure and no wifi. (I’m using my phone data to draft and send this newsletter, and it’ll have fewer images than usual.)

Honestly, it’s been a stressful time, experiencing weather our area just isn’t capable of handling. I know it’ll pass soon, but right now, it feels like it’ll be cold forever. It makes me really, really thankful to live in a place where we can usually depend on utilities that work without even having to think of them. May I never take that for granted again.

On to this week’s book recommendations!
