Oooooops...

Since I record my own audiobooks, the audiobook-production process also serves as one of my last rounds of proofreading. Yesterday, I was doing audio editing and caught an error none of my beta or ARC readers picked up on.

I had two Saturdays in the book, back-to-back. As in, Friday, Saturday, Saturday, Sunday.

Oops!

It’s amazing how these little errors can get past so many sets of eyes! While it was a hassle to re-record certain sentences and phrases to fix this, I was really glad to find it.

I used to sometimes wonder how certain errors could make their way into published books. Now I get it! Every round of revisions tends to introduce new errors. (I’d changed the timeline of this book slightly during early revisions, but I hadn’t been perfectly consistent with my changes. The double Saturday was the result!)

What’s the lesson? Nobody’s perfect. Maybe even authors deserve some grace. (But I’m still glad I caught this error before it went into print!)
