Let's Talk About Mental Health

I love that in our society, it's become acceptable to talk openly about mental health. I've dealt with anxiety my whole life, and I'm a huge fan of therapy. My therapist is wonderful and has helped me be a healthier, happier person.

Many of you know that my husband was diagnosed with stomach cancer in May, and he's still in treatment. He's doing great, but the road has been full of ups and downs, and it's definitely taken a toll on my mental health. Just a few days ago, I started taking an antidepressant/anti-anxiety medication. I'm already feeling more like myself, and I'm glad it's a step I decided to take!

I also introduced a new self-care strategy for 2024: a page-a-day calendar called "Its Going To Be Okay." Here's yesterday's page:

I've got this page propped up on the base of my computer monitor, because I love the message so much!

Another vital part of my self-care routine? Reading. It's a relaxing escape, and I wouldn't be as happy if I didn't have access to books!
