{{contact.first_name}}, the weather 🥵 & books 😎

Hi ,
That heat index, though ...
I grew up in the Arizona desert. I know heat. Yuma, Arizona, where I lived from age 8 to 17, was, on some days, the hottest city in the country.
So when I tell you it's really hot right now in the Austin, Texas area, I mean it is scorching.
Here's a screenshot from yesterday at nearly 7 p.m. showing the temp of 104 (40 C) and heat index of ... gulp ... 117 (47 C)!
The good news is, it's "only" supposed to be 101 today! Then we have a break with 97 and 99 for the next couple of days ... before we head into the next week, where three days are projected to be 105.
Maybe I shouldn't be complaining. Back in Yuma and Phoenix, the two cities I lived in before moving to Texas, they've got some 114-degree days coming up!
Thankfully, we have great air conditioning, which means I can read books at a cool breakfast table in the morning or in a cool bed at night, ignoring the heat.
